Overall: B+

What’s better than having fresh, hot Pan-Asian delivered straight to your door? Having fresh, hot vegan Pan-Asian delivered straight to your door in 30 minutes or less. Dao Palate takes the cake for having speedy delivery and well-packed orders. Your food arrives fast and intact- even fresh pressed juice comes bagged separately with a closed lid to ensure minimal spillage.

If you’re new to vegan dining, Pan-Asian is a great way to break into it. Start with the Curry Samosas, Spring Rolls and/or Pan-Fried Dumplings. Then choose from the many dipping sauces, including satay, mint chutney, ponzu, chili lime, mango salsa, lime-flavored wasabi and plum sauce.

Dao Palate’s owner is intent on serving food that grew up in mineral-rich soil from local farmers; Everyday he picks up fresh produce from the farmers’ market. The restaurant surely lives up to its word of being “healthfully delicious.”

The price for lunch specials, available daily from noon to 4:00pm, is unbeatable. You get one of any sixteen meal options, miso soup, a spring roll and brown rice (no rice for noodle dishes) for less than $8.50. Options include, but are not limited to: Sweet Citrus Soy Protein with kale and almonds, Stir-Fried Soba Noodles, and Malaysian Curry Stew with soy protein, broccoli, carrots and potatoes. The portions are large, ingredients are fresh and service is exceptional.

Dao Palate, located in Prospect Heights, is not easily accessible from the city. With that said, it’s a favorable option for anyone located in the Brooklyn area (mainly Gowanus, Park Slope and Flatbush). When you can’t decide between cooking and getting fast-food, or if you want a healthy lunch at work, try Dao delivery.
